You can freeze ham. If it's still in it's store packet, I notice no difference. If it's already open try to seal securely to avoid freezer burn. I wrap tightly in plastic wrap then put into a ziplock bag. Mostly that works.
Of course if you put into a stew and freeze, no freezer burn!
It is not reccomended to consume pork or beef, if frozen more than 1 yr. you may try, but it is risky. there are still bacteria in the package, when thawed, they multiply rapidly.
